Sheaf square is an area directly outside Sheffield main railway station, which forms part of a regeneration area to link the station to the City centre via a pedestrian route. The water feature which comprises a number of changes in level down towards the station, is lit by the linear LED CLS system with white LEDs under each waterfall and the edge of the feature has a series of CRE2748 uplights which are programmed to go through a colour changing sequence as part of the animated lighting show. The animation represents a 'river of molten steel' (see above) running around the feature complete with water misting and colour change effects as the 'steel' cools. The animation was programmed by Crescent and you can see a video of it below. Lighting Design by Sutton Vane Associates. |
